Mitsubishi to Release New Van by the End of the Decade
Mitsubishi looks to be joining the trend of auto nostalgia by releasing a next generation van that may be the Delica for US shores. The outdoor van was only sold in the US for three years until they discontinued them in 1990. According to Jalopnik, Mitsubishi recently announced a new outdoorsy van based on the D:X Concept which could be the next gen Delica van.
This boxy van has been on the market for two generations and multiple variants in other countries since 1990. Mitsubishi plans to release the Delica by the end of this decade. The Delica sold in two US versions: the “wagon” for passenger versions and the “van” for windowless cargo versions. They featured a 2.4 L 4G64 engine that pushed 107 horsepower while the 1990 and 1991 models offered an LS version of the wagon.
In 2021, the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) actively de-registered Delicas imported in the US that were previously registered in the state under the 25-year federal import rule by classifying it as an off-road all-terrain vehicle.
Last May, a Delica kei car was introduced. The Delica Mini was a tiny version of the regular sized Delica measuring 11 feet long, four feet wide and six feet tall. The “mini” van weighed 2,337 pounds at its heaviest, which is 159 pounds less than the heaviest Mazda Miata. We’ll get more information when it gets closer to the release date.

F&F Supra Appears in Latest Vin Diesel IG Post
Fast and Furious fans will be excited to see Brian O’Conner’s iconic bright orange Toyota Supra from The Fast and The Furious appear in Vin Diesel’s latest Instagram post. The legendary film car was recently showcased in the actor’s latest social media clip.
The 1994 Supra MK IV had a prominent appearance throughout the film, particularly when Diesel’s character Dom Toretto and Paul Walker’s character Brian O’Conner gapped a F355 Ferrari at the stoplight.
The car was originally owned by the film’s technical advisor, Craig Lieberman and built by Eddie Paul at the Shark Shop in California and featured in the sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious. A few years ago, it was sold at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction in 2021 for $550,000.
There were a variety of performance upgrades and modifications on the Supra including a T-66 ball bearing turbo and 100 horsepower NOS wet system that dyno’d for 544-569 horsepower.
In the video Diesel shared, it is for a shoot but doesn’t specify whether it is for the next and final installment of the F&F franchise, but most media outlets are speculating it is.
