Our Commitment to the Environment
My Auto Store is proud to run one of the most environmentally friendly business models in the auto industry.
As a consumer, you have the power to make a difference by consciously choosing products that are environmentally safe or from companies that make the environment a top priority. When you buy a car part from My Auto Store you are helping and contributing to the safe removal of hazardous items such as fluids, gas, tires, catalytic converters and toxic waste that otherwise would’ve been left in the open, contaminating the soil and draining to our rivers. We safely store and transport all toxic fluids to recycling centers specialized in hazardous material around the country.
My Auto Store is one of the largest companies contributing annually to the Automotive Recyclers’ Association’s estimated industry collection of more than 100.8 million gallons of fuel, 8 million gallons of coolant, 24 million gallons of motor oil and 45 million gallons of windshield washer fluid.
My Auto Store goes further in the recycling process than any other company by extending the life of perfectly working car parts.
Providing customers with an original OEM part for 90% less than the cost of the same part at a car dealership. By buying one of our parts you are saving earth’s precious resources needed to manufacture a new part and saving money.
Did you know that every year the automotive recycling industry saves around 85 million barrels of oil from being used to produce new parts? My Auto Store is proud to be part of the solution!
Up to 80% of the End of Life Vehicles (ELVs) can be recycled and My Auto Store is always working to push that percentage even further.
Here is the material breakdown of the average vehicle:
|MATERIAL BREAKDOWN||AVG WEIGHT (LBS)||% OF WEIGHT|
While 20% of a vehicle can’t be recycled, like plastics that are mixed with other substrates, a bigger majority can be recycled — including:
- Air Bags
- Catalytic Converter
You might not believe it but our company directly impacts your life.
